The Home Page Machine at Lasipalatsi allows anyone to create their own Home Page.

One of the objects of the Lasipalatsi Media Centre is to bring information technology to everyone's reach.

One project to experiment with this goal is the easy to use home page machine, which was opened in August 1999.

The home page machine resembles a photo machine so it is not too alien of an experience to anyone. The machine allows you to create a simple web page for yourself with a simple user interface.

Making your own home page costs a 10 FIM coin (about 1,60 USD).

The system is implemented with a Linux-based kiosk running a restricted web browser and a web-based application running on the Lasipalatsi web server.
